The incident took place during the shooting of ‘Vanvaas’ in the streets of Varanasi, where locals had gathered to watch the filming.

A young man approached Nana Patekar to take a selfie, which led to the actor hitting him on the head out of irritation. The video of the incident went viral on social media, leading to widespread criticism of Patekar.

Reflecting on the incident, Patekar recounted that the fan had approached him for a selfie while he was in the middle of a shot, causing him to react angrily.

He admitted that his reaction was wrong and that the fan had come to him out of affection. Patekar explained that the fan was unaware that he was in the middle of a shoot and expressed that it would have been better if the fan had approached him after the shoot was completed, avoiding any issues.

The film ‘Vanvaas,’ which also stars Shruti Marathe and Ashwini Kalsekar in key roles, is set to release on the 20th of this month.

“With his heartfelt apology, Nana Patekar hopes to mend his relationship with fans and ensure that such incidents do not recur in the future.”
