Pushpa-2 Premiere Chaos: NHRC Issues Notices Over Sandhya Theatre Stampede
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued notices to Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) and Hyderabad Commissioner of Police (CP) regarding the stampede incident at Sandhya Theatre, located at RTC Crossroads in Hyderabad. The incident occurred during the premiere show of the movie Pushpa-2, leading to chaos and tragic consequences.
In the notices, the NHRC has sought an explanation about the incident and directed the police authorities to submit a detailed report within four weeks. It has also instructed that a senior-ranking police officer conduct a comprehensive investigation into the matter.
The stampede resulted in the death of a woman named Revathi, while her son is currently undergoing treatment at KIMS Hospital.
This incident has raised serious questions about crowd management and safety measures during high-profile public events. Further action will be determined based on the report submitted by the police authorities.
