CM Revanth Reddy Rules Out Benefit Shows and Ticket Price

In an ongoing meeting with film industry representatives, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy made a significant announcement. He clarified that benefit shows and ticket price hikes for movies would no longer be permitted.

Revanth stated that the government stands firm on the statements he and Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy made in the Assembly on this issue.

He further mentioned that permissions for film events would be granted only if prior approval and adequate security arrangements are in place, emphasizing that public safety is a top priority.

The Chief Minister also addressed the misuse of bouncers, asserting that the government would adopt a stricter stance on such matters going forward.

Revanth reiterated that his government is not against the film industry. He denied allegations of deliberate legal cases against the industry and assured that the government is committed to supporting the growth of the film sector.

He also announced plans to form a committee to explore providing more incentives for film shootings in Telangana. Additionally, he urged the industry to promote temple tourism and eco-tourism through Tollywood projects.

Revanth emphasized that it is the responsibility of celebrities to manage fan behavior during film releases and events.

During the meeting, veteran filmmaker Raghavendra Rao remarked that all previous Chief Ministers have supported the film industry and expressed confidence that the current government would do the same.

He welcomed the appointment of Dil Raju as the Chairman of the Telangana Film Development Corporation.

Senior actor Murali Mohan expressed trust in the Telangana government and noted the distress caused by the recent Sandhya Theater incident. Producer Allu Aravind commented that the day marked a positive milestone for the Telugu film industry.

This meeting underlines the Telangana government’s intent to balance industry development with public safety and law enforcement.
