Mohan Babu Cites Age, Health Issues in SC Bail Plea
New Delhi: The Supreme Court has postponed the hearing on actor Mohan Babu’s petition seeking anticipatory bail in a case involving an alleged attack on a journalist.
A case of attempted murder was registered against Mohan Babu following the incident. After the Telangana High Court denied his request for anticipatory bail, he approached the Supreme Court challenging the lower court’s decision.
In his petition, Mohan Babu cited his advanced age (78 years) and existing heart-related health issues, requesting the Supreme Court to grant him anticipatory bail.
The petition was heard by a bench comprising Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia and Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra.
During the hearing, senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi, representing Mohan Babu, was unavailable. As a result, Mohan Babu’s lawyer requested a passover, which the court accepted. The bench announced that the next hearing will be held on Thursday.
