1 – Shruti Haasan on Kamal Haasan and Box Office Numbers
Actress Shruti Haasan has made it clear that the success or failure of a film does not affect her legendary father, Kamal Haasan. She stated that the “number game” of box office collections is not something that concerns him, but is actually a modern obsession of wealthy people.
In a recent interview, following the huge success of her film Coolie with superstar Rajinikanth, Shruti responded to a question on how the underperformance of Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam’s Thug Life impacted her father.
“Ten years ago, nobody ever discussed numbers. My father belongs to the generation that would even spend their own money to make a good film. So today’s obsession with collections hardly changes anything for him,” she remarked.
When asked about her father’s influence on her, Shruti explained beautifully: “Yes, his influence will always be there in my life. But he is not a shadow that hides my light—he is like the sun that creates shadow yet gives me strength.”
Her touching comments have gone viral on social media, with fans praising Shruti for standing firmly by her father.
