Since the release of the blockbuster film RRR, featuring director S.S. Rajamouli, Ram Charan, and N.T. Rama Rao Jr., the term “Global Star” has been associated with Ram Charan.
While fans embraced this tag, it has now turned into a challenge for his latest film Game Changer. Reportedly, even Ram Charan accepted this label next to his name on-screen.
Game Changer is Ram Charan’s first movie after RRR. However, the film has not generated the expected buzz, making the “Global Star” tag a double-edged sword. Social media trolls have already begun targeting the film.
Now, Ram Charan must prove himself not only in local markets but also in Bollywood to justify his “Global Star” image.
There is, however, one positive factor: Game Changer is slated for a Sankranti release, with no competing big-star films scheduled.
This could benefit the movie’s performance. Advance booking discussions have already started from North America to India. Meanwhile, with Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 breaking records, a fan war between Allu Arjun’s and Ram Charan’s supporters seems inevitable.
Interestingly, the lack of hype might actually work in Game Changer’s favor. If director Shankar showcases his signature style, the film could become a super hit, ultimately validating Ram Charan’s “Global Star” label.
