CV Anand Apologizes for Remarks on National Media Over Sandhya Theatre Incident
Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand has expressed regret over his remarks during a press meet addressing the Sandhya Theatre incident. He apologized to the national media for his comments, admitting that he lost his composure in response to provocative questions.
In a social media post, he clarified that he withdraws his earlier statement, where he alleged that the national media supported the incident at Sandhya Theatre.
The press meet, held on Sunday, was organized to provide clarity on the tragic stampede at the theatre and the death of Revathi.
During the presentation, which included a PowerPoint briefing on the events of the day, CV Anand made controversial comments accusing the national media of siding with the incident. This drew objections from journalists present at the event.
Following the backlash, Anand took to Twitter, writing: “I lost my patience due to provocative questions and made inappropriate comments. I should have exercised restraint. I sincerely apologize to the national media for my mistake.”
