Hyderabad police have detained popular actor Allu Arjun in connection with a stampede at Sandhya Theatre, RTC Cross Roads, during the benefit show of his film “Pushpa-2.” The incident led to the tragic death of a woman.
Following the incident, Chikkadpally police registered a case against Allu Arjun and took him into custody. About 20 police officers arrived at the actor’s residence and escorted him to the police station. Witnesses reported that Allu Arjun appeared calm and even smiled while getting into the police vehicle.
According to the FIR, Allu Arjun is listed as Accused No. 2 (A2). Legal experts say the charges against him do not permit station bail, and if convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison.
Meanwhile, Allu Arjun has approached the High Court seeking dismissal of the case, but no relief has been granted so far. Police have also registered a case against Sandhya Theatre, with the theatre manager and a staff member already in jail. Authorities are expected to present Allu Arjun before the court soon.
