Vijay Antony, who earned strong recognition among Telugu audiences with Bichagadu, has once again teamed up with director Sasi for Vanda Devullu. Like Bichagadu, this film also carries a strong emotional thread connected to a mother. However, this time the story focuses on a mother’s right to happiness, companionship, and a second chance in life.

Vasavi, played by Swasika, becomes a single mother after losing her husband. She works hard as a laborer and raises her children despite facing poverty, social pressure, and humiliation. As a widow, she is constantly judged by society.
To escape this criticism and live with dignity, Vasavi considers remarriage. But her grown-up sons initially oppose her decision. Later, they understand her pain and decide to support her. How they change their mindset, how they face village elders, and whether Vasavi marries Edukondalu, played by Vijay Antony, form the rest of the story.
Analysis
Director Sasi chooses a meaningful subject for Vanda Devullu. The film reminds audiences that a mother is not only a parent but also a human being with feelings, dreams, and personal needs. The movie strongly presents the emotional struggles of single women in rural society.
The first half takes time to establish the characters and their problems. Some scenes feel slow and repetitive. The second half is emotional but predictable. Still, the film keeps the audience connected through the mother-son relationship and the remarriage track.
Vijay Antony’s character Edukondalu brings warmth to the story. His scenes with Vasavi are simple and pleasant. The film may remind some viewers of Maa Nannaki Pelli, but here the focus is on a mother’s remarriage. The director avoids heavy preaching and tells the message in a simple way.

Technical Aspects
The music and background score support the emotional mood of the film. The cinematography captures the rural setting neatly. Editing is decent, though a tighter cut could have improved the pace. Some dialogues are meaningful and suit the subject.
