Director Sukumar’s Residence Raided by Income Tax Officials

Director Sukumar and Mythri Movie Makers Under IT Department Scrutiny

Hyderabad: In a significant development, Income Tax (IT) officials conducted extensive searches at the residence of renowned director Sukumar early on Wednesday morning. These raids are part of a larger operation targeting prominent figures in the Telugu film industry. This marks the second consecutive day of IT department investigations into the financial dealings of individuals linked to high-profile movie projects.

The searches come in the wake of the tremendous box-office success of the recently released film Pushpa 2, directed by Sukumar. Since Tuesday, IT officials have been inspecting the homes and offices of the film’s producers, Mythri Movie Makers. Sukumar’s residence was added to the list of locations being closely examined as the investigation widens.

Simultaneously, raids are ongoing at the home and office of Dil Raju, a leading producer and the Chairman of the Telangana Film Development Corporation (TFDC). Authorities are reportedly scrutinizing financial records to identify potential irregularities.

The operation’s scope has expanded to include several key entities associated with recent Tollywood blockbusters. These include:

  • Mythri Movie Makers’ offices
  • Residences of producers Naveen Yerneni and Ravi Shankar
  • The premises of Mango Media, a prominent media company
  • Financial firms such as Satya Rangayya Finance and individuals like producer Abhishek Agarwal

IT officials are reviewing numerous financial documents to uncover possible discrepancies related to tax filings and other monetary transactions.
