Young Hero Nithiin Stars with Laya in Emotional Action Drama ‘Thammudu’
Young actor Nithiin is playing the lead role in the emotional action drama Thammudu, directed by Sriram Venu. The film marks the return of popular actress Laya to the silver screen. On Thursday, the film’s team announced that Laya has completed dubbing for her role in the movie. Thammudu is scheduled for theatrical release on July 4.
In this film, Laya plays a powerful character named Jhansi Kiranmayi. Announcing this update, production house Sri Venkateswara Creations posted on their official X account: “A powerful voice behind a dynamic role. Actress Laya has completed dubbing for her comeback role in Thammudu. In theatres from July 4. #ThammuduOnJuly4th.”
The film has generated significant anticipation among audiences. The teaser released earlier this month further heightened expectations. Based on the teaser, Nithiin appears to portray a trained archer. The storyline revolves around a younger brother who fights for his sister, determined to keep his word at any cost.
The narrative is set in a place called Ambaragodugu, which is portrayed as a unique and ominous location. According to the teaser, there is only one path in and out of this area. The region is depicted as populated by intimidating and intense individuals. Once someone enters, it appears nearly impossible to leave. Scenes in the teaser suggest that Nithiin’s sister and her young child are trapped there, while those concerned for Nithiin’s safety plead with him to stay far away from the place.
The teaser ends with a powerful line delivered by Nithiin: “If I can’t keep my word, I may be alive but it’s as if I’m dead. If I keep my word, even in death I’ll be alive.” This line highlights the emotional intensity of the film.
Alongside Nithiin and Laya, the film also features Saptami Gowda, Saurabh Sachdeva, Swasika, Hariteja, Srikanth Iyengar, Temper Vamshi, Chammak Chandra, and Varsha Bollamma in key roles. The film is being produced by Raju and Shirish, with music composed by B. Ajaneesh Loknath. K.V. Guhan, Sameer Reddy, and Sethu are serving as cinematographers, while editing is handled by Praveen Pudi. G.M. Shekar is the art director. Stunt choreography is being provided by Vikram More, Real Satish, Ravi Varma, and Ram Krishna.
