Vishnu Manchu’s Dream Project ‘Kannappa’ Set for Global Release on June 27
The official Telugu trailer of the highly anticipated multilingual film Kannappa, starring Vishnu Manchu in the titular role, has been released. With prominent actors such as Mohan Babu, Prabhas, Mohanlal, and Akshay Kumar playing key roles, the film has generated significant expectations from the outset.
The newly released trailer appears to elevate these expectations further. It particularly captivates with the powerful dialogues delivered by the character Thinnadu. The trailer opens with a striking monologue: “There is no God, no souls… it’s just a stone,” as Thinnadu boldly questions the existence of divinity in his signature style. His reference to Lord Shiva as merely a “stone” draws disapproval from the village elders. Dialogues such as “Do you call Shiva a stone?” and “What do you call someone who cannot recognize a stone?” underscore the ideological conflict within the narrative.

As the trailer progresses,Thinnadu’s courageous and committed nature is revealed through lines like, “To protect the secret of this air-linga, I am ready to sacrifice my life. I will not allow harm to come to any child in this village. That is my vow, Thinnadu’s vow.” His defiant spirit and unwavering faith are expressed through declarations like, “Among all the elders, I am the greatest. There is no greater devotee of Shiva in this creation than me,” and “You and your god are nothing but thieves.”

In response to the suggestion, “Call out to Shiva with your heart,” Thinnadu replies, “That will never happen in this lifetime,” highlighting the complexity of his character. Another intriguing line—“Weren’t you the one who severed the thumb of the man who learned there was someone wiser than you?”—indirectly references the story of Ekalavya, suggesting layered storytelling.
The trailer makes it clear that Kannappa is a grand retelling of a legendary Shiva devotee’s journey, filled with strong emotions and spectacular visuals. The cinematography, background score, and especially the impactful dialogues further heighten interest in the film.

In addition to Vishnu Manchu, the film features acclaimed actors including Mohan Babu, Prabhas, Mohanlal, and Akshay Kumar, leading fans to believe that Kannappa will become a landmark in Indian cinema history. Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, known for the successful television adaptation of the Mahabharata, the film is touted as Vishnu Manchu’s dream project and has been met with high expectations.
According to production sources, the trailer has evoked a positive response among long-waiting fans, and final preparations are underway to release Kannappa worldwide on June 27. The trailer launch event was attended by the film unit members and technical crew. The filmmakers expressed confidence that the movie will captivate audiences across languages, not just Telugu-speaking viewers.
